The Gift of Creativity
With 2012 around the corner what better time to start looking into ways to keep those creative juices flowing. Below I have compiled a list of creative projects you can participate in for free (except the sketchbook project (though you can look at their online catalogue from previous years for inspiration).
With Art house’s Sketchbook Project, anyone — from anywhere in the world — can participate in the project. Sign up to receive a blank sketchbook in the mail, then fill it up and send it back. Your work will be cataloged in the Brooklyn Art Library and published in the Limited Edition art book series.
Leah Piken Kolidas’ Creative Everyday Challenge asks you to commit to create everyday whether it’s something baked in your oven or something whipped up with your art supplies. As long as you are creating it counts!
365 day photo project is a free online project where you commit to taking a photo everyday for the year (365 days). It’s a great practice to get into when you are short on time, just take out your phone and snap a shot. Done for the day!
Effy Wild has a wonderful free year-long art journaling project called The Book of Days that I’ve joined as well. I’m really looking forward to this!
Strathmore paper has a free 2012 Online Workshop Series . The next one starts January 1st with Traci Bautista and opens you up to the possibilities of doodling!
With Margot’s free The Poppy Spree on-line workshop using water colours, anyone can create beautiful vibrant poppies with her step by step workshop.
Oh and of course, if you haven’t signed up already, there is my free Free Your Inner Child e-Course – a great way to start the New Year off by infusing a little play into your life.
Stay tuned as I will be sharing with you some new projects that I will be taking on here at ArtTherapist.ca in the new year. I hope you will join me!
