Embracing Your Path
I have been enjoying my time off this month. Catching up with things I have been meaning to do or organize. Spending more time playing and doing art, journaling and meditation. Even hosting an online workshop.
This time of year tends to be a time of reflection and finding intention. We can choose to beat ourselves up about what we have not accomplished or we can bask in the joy of all that we have accomplished despite any preconceived shortcomings. We all have a number of paths before us that we can choose. Many bring us to the same place in a different way, but each brings us to the place that we need to and are ready to be at, at this point in time. So even if things seem like they did not go “your way” or the way you had wished, with some reflection you may just realize that in fact things went the way they needed to and you have gained strength from the experience. I know this was my experience this year as I took on some new challenges that didn’t exactly go smoothly. But in the end these experiences have been building block for experiences ahead of me and I feel grateful for these lessons.
In order to move on in life we need to embrace what is already. Not complain about, compare to “what could have been”, or even shove it aside eager to move ahead. Acceptance is key.
The Winter Solstice is approaching, the official beginning of winter here in the Northern Hemisphere. I like to think of it as a time to gather one’s inner resources to prepare for all the life opportunities ahead. Getting rid of the old, releasing hurts, releasing fears, and allowing myself to appreciate all that I have done, getting ready for embracing the possibilities ahead. It’s not always easy, but when I finally do it I feel such a weight lifted from my shoulders. I can relax knowing that I am open and ready to receive more life lessons and all the gifts that come with this readiness.
I would like to share this process of inner reflection by offering you a special meditation for the New Year.
Creating some art in response to the meditation can be a powerful way to begin to set intentions for the year. Right now until January 6th I am offering this meditation to everyone who is signed up for my list. If you are not already signed up, it’s really easy, you can sign-up right here and get my FREE e-course Free Your Inner Child with it as well, plus weekly updates.
