Let’s play tag!
Fellow Art Therapist and blogger Gretchen Miller of Creativity in Motion recently tagged me in a game of blog tag. To play I had to answer her 11 creative questions and then tag 11 more bloggers with 11 new questions. Below I share our game of tag, including some of the creative blogs that have inspired me.
Here are the rules I’ve received to play:
You must post the rules
Answer 11 questions the tagger posted for you
Create 11 questions to ask the people you tag
Tag 11 people
Let them know you’ve tagged them
And here are Gretchen’s “Creativity in Motion-esque” questions:
1. What is your most favorite art material or media to use in your personal art-making?
I love working with acrylic paints for paintings that I am taking more time with and will use tempera paints for process painting.
2. Favorite source for creative inspiration?
Nature.
3. Any tips for making the time to focus on your creative practice?
Have art supplies spread out throughout your home. Schedule in time with a reminder on your phone.
4. What artsy project are you working on right now?
Art journaling with 21 Secrets plus I’m doing a lot of process painting.
5. Is there a particular art material, technique, or process you would like to learn more about or spend more time with?
I’ve never really taken the time to explore watercolor paints fully. I would love to experiment more with them.
6. Biggest creative challenge you’ve experienced?
Trying to fit in my own creative time during the first few years of being a mother
7. What does creativity mean to you?
Creativity means expressing myself in the way I interact and engage with the world as a whole. It means giving space for my strengths and beauty to unfold in the everydayness of life.
8. Favorite art related book you’ve read or would like to read?
I love Aviva Gold’s Painting From Source, a beautiful book on intuitive painting.
9. Do you prefer to create alone or with others?
It depends on what I am creating and my mood. Mainly I create alone so I don’t get distracted. However, if the company is right, supportive and like-minded then I’m all for sharing the creative energy.
10. What role has social media and networking played in your creative practice?
There are so many inspiring creatives out there. Social media has really encouraged me to stretch my boundaries in the ways that I work by allowing me to have access to so many perspectives. It also allows me to share my e-courses and reach many wonderful people with what ideas I have to offer and hear feedback on them.
11. Finish this sentence: ”To create is to Live your life to it’s fullest getting messy with paint.’
I’ll use the same disclaimer Gretchen gave me for those I have tagged: There is no obligation to play along, so please don’t feel pressured because I tagged you! I just wanted to share your blog with others so they can be inspired too!
