DO be Such a Child!
I have been throwing myself more and more into the thrones of creativity, taking much-needed time for myself to create. I have to admit it feels rather self-centred at times, but that’s okay, it’s for a greater good after all.
Creating art nourishes me.
There is something about creating that sets one’s being free. That is, if you leave that inner critic out of the equation.
To do this you must think like a child:
The world revolves around you therefore everything you do is fantastic, fabulous, THE best!
Create with abandon, without worry.
Let go of any judgements about how you create and how your creation turns out.
It’s about the act of creating. Delving into the process and what it feels like to let your self freely express without self-imposed expectations.
It’s about allowing messiness if that is what is happening in the moment. It’s about allowing messiness if that is what you deeply crave.
It’s about making a butterfly into a monster or a monster into a butterfly, because you feel like it.
Children naturally experiment and try things out without expectation of how they will turn out. They carry the magic inside that allows them to be open to surprises.
So get in that head space of a 5 year-old and out of your adult “I don’t know how to draw/paint/sculpt” mind. Wouldn’t it be nice to allow yourself to just enjoy the process?
Here is a quick video I did to spark your muse mind.
