Create Each Day
What if you had the power to create your day the way you wanted to? Things would run in ways that felt right to you. You would feel connected to your purpose for life. Though it may seem like a far away fantasy, I believe that there is a way to do this: by creating each day. I’ve written elsewhere about how we are creative beings and it is at the heart of who we are as humans. We do have the ability to create our days in ways that feel right to us. Perhaps everything is not exactly as we have imagined, but when is it ever exact. For me it is more about the feeling you have or experience, and that we can have control over. #CreateEachDay
I have decided to embark on a daily adventure with you dear reader. It is one where I will share something that I create daily. I recently purchased a small moleskin sketch book – a sketchbook small enough to fit in my purse for easy access on the commute to work. I have also been delving more into daily art journaling. Though I may not finish a page in one sitting, depending on the day and what else is going on around me, I am creating in my art journal daily. It helps me feel calm when a lot is going on. It helps me center and remember that everything will be fine. There will always be to do lists that need to be tended to. I am including more and more toward the top of my list art making. Art making for me is Caring For Self, something that is easy to forget to do, but essential if the other things on the “to do” list are going to not just get done but done in a way that resonates with me and my happiness. It is a live we are living after all isn’t it? Living to me includes enjoying and when we skip the enjoyment in order to get things done then happiness is stifled.
I would like to invite you to #CreateEachDay and see the impact it can have on your outlook, your sense of happiness. In my art journaling workshops I like to focus on positive aspects of self, affirming who we are, accepting all parts but not getting caught in the overwhelm. I believe this is key to creating that sense of connection with Self; to focus on the positive while still accepting aspects we’d like to push away. Perhaps there is a seed of wisdom to be learned from the experience. Creating in community helps with this connection piece because we are social beings and because a little bit of accountability has been known to motivate one into developing good habits. Wether you are creating at in person gatherings or online workshops, creating in community can help us stay connected with the importance of our creativity and in turn help us #CreateEachDay. Join us in the Virtual Art Circle on Facebook or if you like, follow the journey on Instagram and tag petreaadamidis and #CreateEachDay. Though I will be sharing daily, feel free to share as often or as little as you want. You make your own rules – what is a good fit for you? It’s time to create each day the way you want!
